If you have lost one or more teeth in a row, you may be suitable for a dental bridge – a strong and long-lasting solution to missing teeth.

Bridgework is a common and trusted treatment for missing teeth and our dentists at Smile Factory Medical Center are well-practiced in fitting these restorations.

While bridges can be made of metals such as gold or alloy and porcelain bridges. With the latest trends we have found that Zirconia bridges are often the most popular. Natural in appearance, a good porcelain or zircon bridge will blend into your mouth, so no one can tell that you have lost any of your original teeth.

Treatment

Over two to three appointments, we can fit you with a functional, attractive bridge.

We will first take impressions of your teeth so that our laboratory can create your custom-made bridge. While you wait for this, we will provide you with a temporary bridge.

A traditional dental bridge is supported on either side by your remaining natural teeth which are fitted with crowns. Before a crown can be permanently placed on your natural teeth, some preparation is required to ensure it sits properly and comfortably. The crowns act as anchors for the dental bridge – so named as it literally bridges the gap between the two supporting teeth.

At the next appointment, we will fit you with your permanent bridge. While the process is not painful, you may be given local anaesthetic to numb the area being treated.

Bridges can last for a lifetime if cared for properly. We can provide advice on how to look after your dental restoration.

If your tooth has been damaged or weakened due to decay, you may benefit from a dental crown for additional protection and support.

A dental crown sits on top of an affected tooth to add strength if it has broken, deteriorated due to decay or has become misshapen. Crowns are also used when you require bridgework, as they act as an anchor to hold the bridge in situ.

Crowns are ideal for cases where a natural tooth can be saved. We always strive to maintain your original teeth and a crown allows us to keep as much of your natural tooth as we can.

At Smile Factory Medical Center, we offer patients crowns made from a variety of materials including metal, porcelain, resin and ceramic. Tooth-coloured crowns are often the preferred choice as these blends into the mouth and are barely visible.

While tooth-coloured options are more expensive, we offer a range of finance options to help you spread the cost of treatment and benefit from our dental expertise.

Treatment

You can leave Smile Factory Medical Center with fully a functional crown after just two-three visits.

Our dentist will first take impressions of your teeth to ensure our laboratory can create the perfect crown for your teeth. We will then need to prepare the affected tooth so that the crown can be properly fixed onto it. While the process is not painful, you may be given local anaesthetic to numb the area being treated.

While you wait for your permanent crown, we will fit you with a temporary solution. At your next visit, your permanent crown will be bonded to the affected natural tooth.

Worn by millions of people all over the world, dentures are an effective and affordable solution to replace missing teeth.

At Smile Factory Medical Center, we create denture appliances that are natural in appearance and comfortable to wear. They will help you look and feel as you once did, improving your speech and eating.

Dentures are removable and easy to clean. They can be full or partial appliances depending on the extent of your tooth loss.

Typically made from acrylic or chrome cobalt frame, dentures are designed to last and are extremely durable.

Creating your denture takes place over a number of appointments. Firstly, we will discuss the best solution for your individual case. If this is for a new set of dentures, we will take impressions of your remaining teeth which we will send to our laboratory.

Replace missing teeth with a permanent, long lasting dental implant for a natural, fully functional result.

If you have lost one or more teeth, you may be finding it more difficult to eat, smile and in some cases your speech may even be affected. At Smile Factory Medical Center, we don’t believe a missing tooth should affect your day to day life, so we offer dental implants to resolve your issues.

A dental implant is made of a titanium screw & a prosthetic (or false tooth) which is fixed onto the screw.

The screw is implanted into the jawbone to act as a replacement ‘root’ for your new tooth. We use titanium as research has shown that this metal bonds extremely well with the bone and over time, is completely integrated into the mouth’s system.

Dental implants are natural in appearance and have been created to function just like normal teeth. They have been used in modern dentistry for many years and our dentists are highly experienced in using them to restore patients’ dental function and appearance.

Although a dental bridge can replace the missing tooth, dental implants are proven to last longer, and no preparatory work is required on the surrounding teeth. We offer patients single tooth dental implants when they have lost one tooth and would like it to be replaced.

Your Smile Factory Medical Center dentist may also recommend a single tooth implant if you are about to undergo a tooth extraction. They will incorporate the dental implant into your treatment plan so that they can make the process as easy and stress-free as possible.
